Tryout Process
How does the “tryout, acceptance, joining” process work? Do we need to join the club when we register our child for tryouts? Is there a tryout fee?

Tryouts are free. Trying out for a team is the first step in the process. Players will register at the field before the tryout and be given a numbered pennant to wear during the tryouts. Tryout coaches will challenge the players with age appropriate skill drills and small sided games while recording assessments of player abilities. The results will be considered and then positions offered via a phone call from the club. After an offer is made, parents and players should choose to accept or decline as soon as possible after 48 hours have passed. Clubs may not, within 48 hours following the tryout, require a player to commit to a team, require a fee to hold a roster position, or require a player or parent to sign any registration forms. Team sizes are limited by MVYSA league roster sizes.
